Painted one summer while I was commercial fishing on a beautiful little boat, the Syren, in Bristol Bay, Alaska, with a magical all-lady crew. “Terns on the Wind, Fish in the Seas” is a reflection on the conditions that always boded the fish were on their way - powerful winds, building waves, Terns soaring and calling out to each other. What a gift it is, to harvest these beautiful salmon sustainably, in a truly wild environment.
