The cold ocean waters of Alaska are stocked with all manner of wild and delightful treasures, but one of my personal favorites is the feisty, brilliantly colored Dungeness Crab. Many an intertidal beach walk can yield a vibrant red Dungie-carapace shell to the observant wanderer, and if you aren’t fortunate enough to have brought one of those home (or even if you are!) this piece can serve as a wild little reminder of the Alaskan Ocean.
