Turnagain Arm is a beautiful, silty, salty stretch of water filling the two mile shallow fjord between the Chugach and Kenai Mountain Ranges. It’s home to a remarkable natural phenomenon known as a Bore tide (that’s worth a YouTube if you’ve never heard of it) that surfers, paddle-boarders, and kayakers flock to, and is often populated with Belugas as well as water-loving humans.
