Magic always happens when you walk the docks...I wanted to go be in one of my favorite spots, poking around the Kodiak Harbor, checking out the boats and gear and smelling the salt and fish, and listening to the longliners and seiners and pot boats bickering and rigging and baiting in preparation for their trips. And like magic tends to happen, some delightful guy covered in fiberglass and paint yelled, “Hey lady, looking for a job?” I laughed and told him I had one already, but before I knew it I found my afternoon swept up laughing and preparing ganions, filing hooks, and fixing up liferings with the delightful crew of the F/V ANAPILAR before they head out to slay some Halibut in the Gulf of Alaska. Life is beautiful, home is anywhere, and new friends are everywhere.
