This piece was inspired by a vibrant little Dolly Varden I caught flyfishing the turquoise waters of the Kenai River last fall. Holding that beautiful, iridescent fish filled me up with awe, between its shimmering scales and the sunlit water, everything around me seemed to be luminous and just waiting to be painted .
